Disturbing Video Shows Instant Officers Suffer Blade Attacks in Ambush

A senior officer who jumped to the help of a fellow officer who was ambushed by a knife attacker was granted the Royal Recognition for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-yr-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a knife to the throat of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the policemen and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist subsequent to a road collision in that location in July 2023.

Brown attacked with blade both Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster before PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a stun gun.

"Officer stabbed," the constable could be heard saying over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashcam video released by the police department showed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a head covered, rush to Sergeant Foster from behind with a knife extended.

He struck the policeman who tripped and went down to the ground, before Sergeant Ansell jumped in and attempted to subdue him to the ground despite being multiple times hit with the knife.

Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and awaited a open target, bringing the fight to an conclusion.

Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "Can I get help on my throat now, I'm bleeding in the throat."

Sgt Ansell sustained two open wounds to his neck and further cuts to his limbs and torso, whereas Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.

Authorities stated Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to stop his fellow officer's bleeding before paramedics came.

This most recent recognition comes after the three officers were granted organizational Courage Honors in late 2023 and the police federation award from the regional union branch in spring 2024.

They were also awarded a Area Bravery Award in summer 2024.

"The responses of all three officers in the end saved each other and ensured no civilians experienced any wounds."

Brown received a sentence to an psychiatric detention in April 2024, as stated by authorities.
